Getting A Reasonable Price For Your Scrap Gold Is Not Difficult
Wednesday, 18 February 2009

If you are thinking about selling your scrap gold jewelry to help pay off some debts, here are some tips to getting a reasonable price for your gold.

And here is a free ebook I am offering titled "Financial Freedom and Financial Independence." Hopefully it will help you to get back on your feet after you've sold your gold!

Here's a brief guide to finding out how much scrap gold is worth and getting a fair deal. Scrap price is the minimum worth that gold should be sold for - the value of the gold itself. After all, there are some factors that might bring the price up.

Good craftsmanship could get you a price that is less than retail, but higher than scrap. When you have determined the piece has no other price than scrap, you will must know what karat it is.

This goes from 8 karat to twenty-four karat, and will tell you what p.c. is really gold. This material is about a 3rd gold, and occasionally may taint. 9 karat is thirty-seven and a half p.c gold, and is located often in the United Kingdom. The minimum US standard is 10 karat, at roughly forty-one % gold.

This material is selected for its hard wearing qualities, as it is harder than pure gold. It's barely seen these days, but could be found in old watch cases. You can find twenty-two karat gold often in pieces from East Asia and the Middle East. At the apex of the list is twenty-four karat gold, the softest and purest available. When you know how pure your gold is, finding the weight is the following step. Gold and silver are measured in either troy oz. or in grams.

This may tell you the price you should expect to get when selling your scrap gold. Do some searching on the internet before you decide to sell at a local jeweler, you can probably get a better price.

And don't forget to download this free ebook to help you get back on your feet after you've sold your scrap gold.
